Secrets grow like trees,
Stronger as they grow old.
Like branches they spread wide,
Weaving lies.
But eventually,
Like leaves,
They fall.
Leaving you bare,
Of shelter.
All alone,
Exposed.

Okay, I wrote this a while ago.. I have come a little way since then but I have been bullied into adding some of my old poetry to this site so, here it is:

hmm...It's got a good rythmn, and have an interesting flow,
if you read it right, it sounds like wind in the tree branches...
anyway, it's an interesting message, even though I don't especially understand your point of view...

I also like the way that it makes a picture:
at the top, the verses are long, making it wide and branched out, and at the bottom,
it's thin and narrow, like the trunk,
see?

I never thought about the tree-shape of the poem. Thank you for pointing that out. i was just reflecting on secrets in general. Everyone has secrets but the more people you let in, the less the secret is strong until one day it....breaks.... and then, well, everything collapses and you are all alone, nobody to hide behind, everybody hates you... that sort of thing...
Seems sort of dark, I know.
Believe it or not, I got inspired by Desperate Housewives...
My mom forces me to watch the show...ugh...
