My breath is white, visible in the frigid air. I try to contain the shivers either of sadness or cold I cannot tell.
The wind blows against my hair and takes away the hope that you will ever come.
The trees are bare but the snow is gone. The air is cold, I'm still here. The promise of Spring; the one you never kept.
I see the children laughing as I walk by. I wonder, if those smiles will ever stay. Or, if like mine, they will eventually fade away.
